Registration for EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK 2026 (EMW 2026) is Now Open

Registration for EMW 2026 is currently underway. Held annually every September since 2002, EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK aims to encourage local authorities across Europe to promote sustainable urban mobility. Municipalities can contribute to raising awareness about sustainable transport in Türkiye by carrying out activities within the scope of this week.

During European Mobility Week, an event that encourages municipalities across Europe to support sustainable transportation, municipalities hold events between September 16-22 that promote pedestrian transport, cycling, and environmentally friendly public transportation. On the final day of the week, 22 September, "Car-Free Day" is celebrated. The aim of all these efforts is to reduce carbon emissions, improve air quality, and make cities more livable.

As was the case last year, the main theme of European Mobility Week in 2026 continues to be "Mobility for All." This year's special focus topic has been determined as Intergenerational Fairness, a theme that the European Commission aims to embed in EU policies. Intergenerational Fairness in Mobility aims to establish sustainable transport systems suitable for everyone, from children to young people, and from adults to the elderly.

Municipalities wishing to join European Mobility Week can registration via this link. Municipalities that organize events during the week, raise awareness, and commit to holding a "Car-Free Day" on September 22 earn the "Golden Participant" title, making them eligible for the European Mobility Week Awards.

In addition to municipalities, non-governmental organizations, businesses, schools, public institutions, and citizen initiatives can register their MOBILITYACTIONs for awareness-raising activities carried out throughout the year. MOBILITYACTION applications are open year-round and are not limited to September 16–22. For detailed information on the participation conditions and rules for MOBILITYACTION, you can visit this link.

For more information about the event, you can visit the official EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK website and review projects and events from previous years. You can also examine the details of the 2026 theme and the registration guide.
