Management Development Center

Management Development Center was established to support the corporate capacity building efforts of local governments.

In this sense, the aim of MDC is to carry out activities such as training, research, experience-sharing meetings, workshops, panels, symposiums, conferences to improve the management systems of organizations by bringing academicians and practitioners together under the roof of the center. It is also planned to create a pool of good practices and evaluation criteria where local government units can make comparisons in this field with the contribution of academicians and practitioners of the subject.

On the other hand, it is also strategically important to train managers who have different job descriptions and roles in institutions for the successful implementation of existing management systems. Today, the expectations of institutions from managers are not just about being familiar with and applying the legislation. Managers are expected to recognize the recent developments in the world and the opportunities for their city from a wider perspective, to formulate strategies, values and approaches of the organization, to demonstrate the ability to implement them with agility and to conveying those to employees and teams. With this need in mind and with an interdisciplinary approach, managers can be trained by MDC in team building, teamwork, team management, communication skills, decision-making, problem solving, motivation, time management, project management, leadership, effective presentation, protocol rules and can improve their leadership and management skills. Moreover, it is aimed to develop an effective management consultancy system within MMU in the light of the aforementioned objectives.
