MMU Becomes Knowledge Partner of the Pritzker Forum on Global Cities

Marmara Municipalities Union has become the knowledge partner of this year’s Pritzker Forum on Global Affairs, co-organized by The Chicago Council on Global Affairs and the Financial Times.

The Pritzker Forum on Global Cities has been organized with the title of “Changing Cities, New Realities” this year as a virtual event series that will continue throughout the year. Within the forum which has brought together the city stakeholders, the role of cities in tackling today’s challenges have been discussed by focusing on 3 main topics: "Adapting Governance", "Pursuing Equality" and "Reimagining Resilience".

In the framework of the forum, the first virtual event was held with the title of "Adapting Governance" on October 15, 2020. During the two-hour event, themes related to urban governance were discussed. In the event, the issue of how the Covid-19 outbreak revealed structural inequalities in cities was also addressed. The second virtual event of the forum will take place with the title of “Pursuing Equity” on March 18, 2021, and the topics of what equitable urban life looks like and which strategies and programs can create more equitable cities will be discussed.
