Financial Resources Of Municipalities Discussed Within The Framework Of Migration
The meeting on “Local Government Finance in the Context of Migration and Refugee Crisis” hosted Dr. Yahya Can Dura and Mr. Coşkun Karakoç from Turkish Ministry of Interior. In the meeting, the relationship between migration and local governments was evaluated in terms of financing of municipal services and financial problems faced by local governments in providing inclusive services. Current income-expenditure and resource management models, project-based alternative funding sources for local governments were discussed. In the afternoon workshop, municipalities had shared their knowledge and experiences by reviewing an exemplary budget income statement through the case study.
