Reports On Marmara Urban Forum And Play Marmara Published

The report on Marmara Urban Forum (MARUF), which was held for the first time on October 1-3, 2019 with the participation of 250 speakers and 5540 people from 25 countries, has been published.

Having been one of the most influential urban forums in the world, Marmara Urban Forum (MARUF) focuses on “Cities Developing Solutions” and creates a platform for sharing information, experience and opportunities between the public and private sectors, non-governmental organizations, universities, local administrations and all other relevant stakeholders. In parallel with the Sustainable Development Goals and its 12 main themes, MARUF19 broke grounds with its innovative sessions such as Play Marmara, PhD Showcase, Dialogue Marmara, and with 250 speakers and 5540 participants from 25 countries.

The MARUF19 report includes the highlights of the sessions, solution suggestions and good practices. In addition, having set out with the motto of “Cities Producing Solutions”, the organizational process, activities and events, and post-event evaluations are comprehensively discussed in the report.

The Play Marmara Report is Also Out

‘Play Marmara’ took place in MARUF19 as the first regional development game in Turkey. Based on real-world data and ‘serious gaming’ method, Play Marmara was used as a participatory technique in planning the future of cities and sustainable regional development. Mayors from the region, the heads of development agencies in the region, practitioners, academics and university students came together on Play Marmara sessions. Play Marmara let the participants experience an innovative and inclusive decision-making tool towards sustainable urban development in the Marmara Region. This serious gaming experience during MARUF also paves the way for further discussions on the regional development of Marmara. The prominent topics and projects, areas of cooperation, solution proposals, and outputs in Play Marmara sessions, which were held with over 150 participants in 5 sessions are included in the report.
