Play Marmara "Sea" Report Is Now Available

Play Marmara is a multi-actor serious game created particularly for the Marmara Urban Forum -MARUF as a partnership of Marmara Municipalities Union and Play the City. The first edition of the game was launched in 2019. Participating mayors started in the first round with cleaning the inner sea. The game rule went if one mayor would deny the collaboration; then the sea would remain polluted as it was.

The 2021 edition of the game, Play Marmara "Sea", focused on the sustainable management of the wastewater that meets the Marmara Sea through point and diffuse sources. Changes in seawater quality parameters and the developments in the marine ecosystem have been debated through a hybrid game process that was run online and offline. Play Marmara Sea partners are Marmara Municipalities Union (MBB), Play the City, Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change and METU Marine Sciences Institute.
