Domestic Solid Waste Tariffs And Zero Waste Practices Discussed
Domestic Solid Waste Tariffs and Zero Waste Practices Workshop organized by Marmara Municipalities Union (MMU) was held in Istanbul on Tuesday, 19 February 2019, with the participation of representatives from the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization, MMU member municipalities, metropolitan water and sewage administrations and civil society organizations.
In the frame of the meeting, legal difficulties on the establishment process of an accounting system to collect household solid waste and management costs were discussed. Challenges encountered by municipalities on determining domestic solid waste tariffs and cost headings were addressed by municipal officers. Participants shared their knowledge and experiences on zero waste policy and its applications.
