MARUF25 (Marmara Urban Forum) Report Published

The MARUF25 Report documenting the discussions and experiences shared during the forum has been published. The publication makes the forum’s knowledge and outcomes accessible to a wider audience.

Following the fourth Marmara Urban Forum (MARUF25), organized by Marmara Municipalities Union, MARUF25 Report has been released. The forum was held on 1-3 October 2025, at Istanbul Haliç Congress Center, within the framework of "On the Shore of All Possibilities." The forum brought together stakeholders from different disciplines to discuss common urban challenges.

Since 2019, this international forum—organized under the motto "Cities Developing Solutions"—has provided a multi-stakeholder platform connecting public institutions, academia, civil society, the private sector, and international organizations. MARUF25 hosted more than 8000 participants, with over 500 speakers from 50 countries taking part in more than 200 events, supported by over 150 partners.

The report aims to preserve the knowledge produced during the forum and make it accessible to everyone. It also serves as a comprehensive reference for those who could not attend the forum or were unable to follow parallel sessions.

A Three-Part Structure

Available in both Turkish and English, the MARUF25 Report consists of three main sections:

  • About MARUF25: This section presents the forum's framework, planning process, design approach, event formats, collaborations, and statistics.
  • MARUF25 Event Summaries: This section shares details and summaries of the events held during "MARUF on the Go" and throughout the forum from 1 to 3 October 2025.
  • Evaluations: This section features insights, suggestions, and future-oriented reflections from Advisory Board members, partners, speakers, participants, and volunteers.

Keeping the Knowledge Alive

MARUF is not only a three-day event but an ongoing learning and collaboration platform that supports collective thinking and knowledge production on the future of cities. By documenting the discussions held during the forum, the report seeks to provide a reference for future work and support continued dialogue among stakeholders.
