Delegation from Shanghai Visits Marmara Municipalities Union
During the meeting, information was shared about MMU’s institutional structure, areas of work, and ongoing projects. Discussions also focused on urban development dynamics in the Marmara Region, regional planning approaches, and the sustainability vision of local governments. MMU Secretary General M. Cemil Arslan provided insights into the planning processes, resilience efforts, and environmental sustainability goals of municipalities in the Marmara Region.
The delegation included ZHAO Baojing, Vice President of the Shanghai Urban Planning and Design Research Institute; HU Xiaozhong, Second Counselor at the Shanghai Bureau of Planning and Natural Resources; Senior Engineers ZHOU Wenna and ZHENG Yinan from the Institute; and GE Yan, Senior Engineer at Shanghai Planning and Design Co., Ltd.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties discussed opportunities for collaboration between local governments in Türkiye and China in the field of urban planning and design, expressing their intent to strengthen cooperation in the future.
