Youth Gathers at Countries Fair in Bursa
Young people from 20 countries participated in the Countries Fair co-organised by Bursa Metropolitan Municipality and AIESEC Turkey on 12 July 2009.
Local Agenda 21 of Bursa Metropolitan Municipality and the youth organisation "AIESEC Turkey" invited youth organisations from 20 countries to participate in the fair with objective to promote intercultural dialogue and cooperation. AIESEC is the world's largest student-run organisation and has its local offices in Turkey.
Mr Rýfat Bakan, Secretary General of Local Agenda 21 and General Manager of Culture Inc (affiliate company of Metropolitan Municipality), praised this fair which allowed different cultures to come together and interact in friendly atmosphere. "Bursa is a world city. Our young citizen have realised an important project, as they made possible for young people from various countries to meet and display their cultures. This will strengthen the intercultural dialogue" he said.
Cultural teams from Poland, Egypt, Tunisia, Canada, USA, South Korea, Holland, Italy, Sweden and Greece performed cultural presentations and folkloric dance.
